One of my most important duties, and one that I hold very dear, is saying "Thank you!" to our donors, volunteers, partners and all of our Friends that make our mission possible. Without you, there would be no mission, but there would be many thousands of our neighbors in need going hungry. It pains me even to think of seniors, children, struggling families and other vulnerable folks going without enough healthy food in our blessed nation of abundance. Please know that our team and I are grateful every day as we open the Food Bank doors, gather and share the bounty you create, and then head home knowing we have all done amazing work. Thank you so much!
As we approach this wonderful holiday season, we look back on a harvest season of striking paradox....Pennsylvania farmers yielded bumper crops of vegetables, fruit and other wonderful food, while millions of our neighbors on the Gulf Coast, across the Caribbean and beyond suffered horrific destruction from natural disasters. Know that our neighbors to the south are also in our thoughts and prayers, and in our actions...we have helped by donating staff assistance and by sharing surplus ready-to-eat snacks, beverages and bottled water that was hauled to impacted regions via transport funded by Feeding America, our national affiliate and tremendous partner.
I'll close by wishing you and your loved ones a blessed Holiday season, and by thanking you for the vital part you play in making sure none of our neighbors go hungry. It is your continued support that keeps us "fighting hunger, improving lives and strengthening communities"... Thank YOU!
