Central Pennsylvania Food Bank to hold 23rd annual Soup & a Bowl Event on March 14
Fundraiser Features Hot Soup and Handcrafted Pottery
(Harrisburg, PA) — The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank’s 23rd annual Soup & a Bowl will take place Monday, March 14 at the Radisson Hotel Harrisburg, located in Camp Hill. With a St. Patrick’s Day theme, this event combines food, entertainment and the best hand-crafted pottery from local artists. Last year, the event was a sellout, and served soup (and a bowl) to nearly 700 guests and raised more than $27,000 to help the Food Bank reduce hunger in central Pennsylvania. Proceeds from the event will help provide more than 150,000 meals to individuals struggling with hunger in our community.
A ticket to the event includes a light lunch, a handcrafted pottery bowl and live entertainment. Local artists create and donate approximately 800 bowls, and guests select their own keepsake bowl. A limited number of commemorative Central Pennsylvania Food Bank bowls, crafted by Audra Doughty of Mud Queen Pottery of Harrisburg, are also available to purchase the day of the event, at a cost of $30.
Seating for the event is available from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and take-out food is also available. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door the day of event. Ticket cost is $30 at the door.
The Radisson Hotel Harrisburg donates space for this event, providing a selection of soups such as potato leek, chicken and rice, tomato bisque and broccoli and cheese. The Potter Sponsor is Karns Quality Foods, who will also provide desserts. Kiln Sponsors are Boyer & Ritter, LLC; Central PA World War II Roundtable; Diversified Foods, Inc.; Eckert Seamans; New World Pasta; Quantum Communications; Swiss Premium Dairy; and Sun Motor Cars. Glaze Sponsor is Brown Schultz Sheridan & Fritz. Media sponsor is abc27 and Valerie Pritchett will serve as emcee.
