There are numerous ways to become involved with the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. Please read below to learn about the various ways you, your company, employees and customers can help in the fight against hunger.
Our fight against hunger involves hundreds of companies in a variety of ways. For instance, volunteers from The Hershey Company pack boxes of mixed groceries donated from Big Lots which are delivered throughout our 27 county territory on a truck donated by Wal-Mart. This is just one example of the many strong, multi-level corporate partnerships we have with local and national companies.
Corporate Food Donations
We do our best to make donating easy for you and ensure you that your donation will be handled safely and efficiently. Donating products does more than make the donor feel good. It’s also a smart business practice. Here’s why:
- Recoup significant tax savings. The tax deduction usually equals cost basis plus one-half the unrealized profits.
- Save on storage costs and dumping fees on products that can be moved.
- Reduce waste of good product.
- Build your public image by supporting hunger relief efforts in your local communities.
- Corporate donors are protected from liability by the Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Act.
