Frequently Asked Questions

You can pre-purchase event tickets for all events on our website or by calling us at 717.564.1700. For both of our Taste events, Main and Child tickets can also be purchased at select GIANT Food Store locations. The Taste of Central Pennsylvania tickets can be purchased at Dauphin and Cumberland county stores only, while the Taste of Lancaster County tickets can be purchased at Lancaster county stores only. For all of our events, tickets will also be sold at the door on the day of the event for an additional $5.

We accept all forms of payment for the purchase of tickets; cash, check and credit card. If purchasing online you will be asked to pay with a credit card. All credit card types are accepted for payment (VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover).

During both of our Taste of Central Pennsylvania and Taste of Lancaster County events, we have three different levels of tickets for each event:

  • Deluxe Tickets include admission to an hour long Reception that is a pre-event reception that includes an assortment of hors d’ourves, wine and champagne, as well as admission to the Private and Main Tasting portions of the event that will follow. 
  • Private Taste Tickets allow you to enjoy an hour long exclusive first tasting of all participating food & beverage purveyors before the Main Taste where the tastings continue and the largest crowd will arrive. 
  • Main Taste Tickets are for the Main Taste event only.

The purchase price of tickets to either Harrisburg Soup & a Bowl or Williamsport Soup & a Bowl you include a light lunch of soup, bread and dessert as well as your choice of a one of a kind hand-crafted pottery bowl.

In the marketing/promotion of your event, the Food Bank kindly asks that we may review all materials before they are printed and/or presented to the public.

The Food Bank can assist in your event when appropriate with the following: website calendar and/or press release listing, inclusion in our e-newsletter and newsletter, provide a Food Bank banner, social media outlets and potentially provide a representative at your event, upon staff availability. For further information or questions with holding a third party event, please contact us at 717.564.1700.

The following fundraising activities are prohibited in conjunction with a third party event for the benefit of the Central PA Food Bank:

  • Programs that raise money on commission
  • Events involving the promotion or support of a political party or candidate, or those which appear to endorse a political activity
  • Direct solicitation (including but not limited to door-to-door canvassing, telemarketing or internet)
  • Food fights or eating contests
