Join others to pack nutritious, healthy food for our newly developed Hybrid BackPack Program, serving students in the Williamsport Area School District (WASD). According to the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the WASD has more than 70% of students that are eligible for free or reduced meals, which is above the state average of 49.5%. The Hybrid BackPack program combines two of the Food Bank’s existing programs, Fresh Express and BackPack program, to give access to nutritious food when a student is not at school. To date, the Hybrid BackPack program has served over 1,800 students per month.
Family Packing Events are hands-on experience packing fruits and vegetables that will be distributed at WASD.
Children ages 5 and up are welcome.

There is space for 15 volunteers at each session.
