ElderShare / Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)

Because so many seniors live on fixed incomes, they often find themselves choosing between food or medicine – or other necessities. More than 6,000 eligible seniors receive a box of nutritious food monthly from local distribution sites.

ElderShare Distribution Program

Through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), income-eligible seniors in 26 Central Pennsylvania counties will receive much-needed supplemental food packages (boxes) on a monthly basis.

ElderShare is a monthly supplemental food program of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Food for ElderShare is provided by the USDA Department of Food and Nutrition Service. ElderShare food packages do not provide a complete diet, but rather are good sources of the nutrients typically lacking in the diets of lower income seniors.
