Giant Food Stores donated 250 hams to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank to help feed those in need this Easter. An annual tradition for Giant, headquartered in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, the ham donations support the company’s mission of ending hunger in the communities the company serves as well as giving back to its community partners.

“Hunger is a problem in every community,” said Nicholas Bertram, president, Giant Food Stores. “It’s something we take very seriously at Giant, especially around the holidays where family meals are often the center of the celebration. Local food banks also see an increase in demand during this time, so we are happy to provide them with this additional donation and make their job a little easier.

In addition to the ham donation, about 15 store associates spent the morning volunteering at the Food Bank, packing boxes and sorting produce.

Customers can help their neighbors in need this Easter by donating their free ham certificate to a local food bank. From now through April 21, customers can earn rewards points toward a free ham certificate every time they shop using their BonusCard. The certificates can be redeemed from April 12 through April 21 at any Giant location.
