(Harrisburg, PA) – Today, the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank (CPFB) hosted a Harrisburg Pack-a-Thon at its headquarters in recognition of Hunger Action Month.

Hunger Action Month occurs annually in September to raise awareness about hunger and food insecurity in communities. Every year, the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank partners with Feeding America food banks in this national campaign to advocate, educate and take action to address food insecurity across its 27-county footprint and beyond.

As part of this effort, the CPFB organized a full day Pack-a-Thon along with its event sponsor, Pennsylvania Data Center Partners, to pack over 1,000 boxes of nutritious food to deliver to neighbors in need.

“Hunger Action Month is about raising awareness of the hunger crisis that exists and working together as a community to serve our fellow neighbors,” said CPFB CEO, Shila Ulrich. “Here at the food bank, we make it our mission not only in the month of September, but every day of the year, to ensure Pennsylvanians don’t go hungry and that they have access to healthy food.”

Ulrich went on to mention that these efforts wouldn’t be possible without the support of partners like Pennsylvania Data Center Partners, who generously sponsored the Pack-a-Thon event.

“We are proud to support the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank and collaborate on this event to help combat hunger and improve food access within our region,” said Igal Feibush, CEO of Pennsylvania Data Center Partners, a developer of hyperscale data centers throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. “Our team remains dedicated to supporting initiatives and organizations that seek to enhance the quality of life within our community.”
