#HungerHeroStories
Helping with Pride is a LGBT community service organization in Harrisburg that has been volunteering at the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank once a month for nearly four years. Since the pandemic began in March, they have been bringing a group to volunteer at our Central Packing Operations facility weekly and have packed thousands of our crisis response boxes for those struggling with hunger.
“It’s been very important to us to serve the mission of the Food Bank,” said Travis Woodyard, president, Helping with Pride. “Nobody should have to go hungry. Everybody should be able to know where their food is coming from and it helps our community knowing we are making a difference.”
