#HungerHero Stories

The New Love Center is committed to ending hunger for individuals and families in Lycoming and Clinton counties.  COVID-19 drastically affected their food distributions, increasing demand for their services.  Their team quickly rose to the challenge and modified their services so clients could still pick up food twice a month.  They also began new pop-up pantries in Lock Haven and Renovo, allowing them to feed families in more remote areas of their counties.  Their café evolved to meet the needs during the pandemic and offered take-out meals and delivery to clients.

“Our goal is to provide food to those in need,” said Alice Fox of the New Love Center.  “The pandemic only increased the need for our services, with many clients coming for the first time.  We quickly anticipated that the needs of those in our communities were going to increase as more and more people were out of work.  The New Love Center and our incredible volunteers did what we could to reach more people and put food on the tables of those in need.  We continue to be inspired by those in our communities who step up when help is needed.”

We are inspired every day by the work our partners our doing to bring hope to those struggling with hunger.  We are proud to honor The New Love Center as a 2020 Hunger Hero.  To learn more about The New Love Center and the work they do in their communities, visit www.thenewlovecenter.com.
