The impact of Walmart and Sam’s Club is felt at every level of the Food Bank. Every year, Walmart donates millions of pounds of food, makes monetary donations and volunteers time. Recently, Walmart proved their impact goes beyond food. They made a donation that brought smiles to the faces of our clients, just in time for Easter.
Their stores in the Harrisburg donated bouquets of fresh flowers to the Food Bank. Our ElderShare Programs Manager, Adam Peterson, decided they would make a perfect gift to some his clients. He took them to a monthly food distribution at the Lebanon Townhouse Apartments in Lebanon, PA. The seniors receiving them (pictured are Beverly C., Maria R. and Amelia N) were very excited to have them to brighten their apartments during the holiday. One even told Adam, “I never receive things like this. Thank you so much.”
And thank you, Walmart and Sam’s Club, for the impact have on your local communities and for helping us brighten days and bring smiles.
