Donation will support Food Bank’s Fresh Express Mobile Distributions in Lycoming County

Harrisburg, PA – The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank announced today it received a grant for $20,000 from the EQT Foundation which will help fund the Food Bank’s Fresh Express Mobile Distributions in Lycoming County.

“We are honored to receive our first gift from the EQT Foundation,” said Joe Arthur, executive director of the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. “This gift will help us provide thousands of pounds of fresh, nutritious produce and dairy items for families in Lycoming County who are still making hard decisions between buying groceries or paying for other critical expenses in the wake of rising costs and record inflation. We are grateful for the support of the EQT Foundation and their commitment to feeding families in our communities.”

The Food Bank is one of the largest charitable food organizations in central PA, serving more than 152,000 people each month through a network of more than 1,200 partner agencies and programs in 27 counties, including Lycoming. Each month, the Food Bank holds nearly 20 Fresh Express mobile distributions at various locations throughout Lycoming County. Gifts like the one from the EQT Foundation will help the Food Bank continue to supply millions of pounds of fresh, healthy food including fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy and center of the plate protein. In 2021, the Food Bank distributed more than 14 million pounds of fresh produce.
